How to make fresh apple juice

The first and simplest type of fall apple drink is just apple juice. Sure, you can buy it at the supermarket but what about making it yourself?

To make fresh apple juice, you’ll need:

  • apple
  • a juicer

First, wash your apples thoroughly. Then put them in the juicer and enjoy! The best time to drink fresh juice is within 15 minutes of making it as this way you get all the nutrients that are still breaking down from being pressed or milled.

If you wait any longer, the fruit will release a lot of its natural sugar, which means that it won’t taste as good.

What are the best apples to use for juice?

Some of the best apples to use to make apple juice include:

  • Granny Smith
  • Fuji
  • Gala
  • Golden Delicious

All of these apples will add a nice tartness to your drink which many people enjoy. The sweetness in the apple juice is still there, you just need some type of sour or acidic flavour to balance it out. These apples are best because they come into the sweet and tart category.

Apple smoothies

Another healthy option for a fall apple drink is an apple smoothie. There’s loads of great examples and ingredients you can add with apple to make these drinks.  You can pop some apple slices straight into the blender and the skins will add to the goodness of the drink.

Apple puree can be made by blending one apple with either frozen or fresh ingredients such as bananas, vanilla extract and honey. Blackberries make a good fall addition to these drinks. You can also try adding some of your favourite fall spices like cinnamon, ginger or nutmeg to give it an extra flavour boost!

Apple Spice Smoothie

This drink is relatively healthy and can be made without a lot of prep. Apples are great for your digestive health, as well as fiber to help keep your intestines clean. Spinach has a few agents that promote anti-inflammatory action in the body as well.
